Gisèle L'Épicier was born in Joliette, Quebec. She holds a diploma in Fine Arts from the University of Quebec in Montreal and did additional studies at the Saidye Bronfman Centre for the Arts in Montreal and also at the University of Sherbrooke. Gisèle L'Épicier has been a full-time painter for over thirty years. She creates a limitless world of her own with her characteristically natural and free brush strokes. Her paintings reveal her interest in music, poetry, urban landscapes, dance, man and woman relationships. Her art can be found in many private and corporate collections.

Gisèle L'Épicier was one of the three finalists of the international competition 2003 "First Annual On-line Art Competition: Figuratively Speaking" held by L’Atelier Robert Coane, New York. In the fall of 2004, with her painting Le violon vert, she won the first prize of the regional competition held by the University of Quebec’s INRS («Institut national de la recherche scientifique») in order to select a work of art to illustrate the cover of «Histoire de Lanaudière», 20th volume of the series «Histoire des régions». In 2011, Pearson Education Canada, Canada’s largest educational publisher, chose her painting L’étranger to include as a chapter opener in the Canadian edition of Lilienfield et al., «Psychology, From Inquiry to Understanding».
